Kevin Igoe is the Claims Director at Professional Fee Protection and a Chartered Tax Advisor. In his role as Director of Claims at PFP he has seen 8,000 enquiries and disputes of various kinds and is able to provide unique insight into the very latest trends and compliance issues as they arise across the UK and feedback on the solutions being found. Prior to joining PFP Kevin worked for HMRC and one of the big four. Kevin is an expert in investigations and is invited to present seminars and webinars on a regular basis across the UK. He has spoken for ICAS (Institute for Chartered Accountants for Scotland), CIOT, CIMA, AIMS, SWAT, 2020, AON and Lexis Nexis. Kevin regularly writes articles for professional magazines and has also been quoted in the national press & interviewed on Radio 4.

John is a partner at PKF specialising in tax investigation work, covering offshore evasion, lengthy fraud investigations carried out by HMRC's specialist units, disputes with HMRC (or between taxpayers), professional negligence claims relating to tax and detailed self assessment enquiries into companies and individuals. He is also an experienced expert witness in court cases. John is a committee member of the Tax Investigations Practitioners’ Group, and deputy Chairman of the Enquiries and Appeals Committee, both part of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well as a member of the Management of Taxes sub-Committee at the Chartered Institute of Taxation. John writes and lectures regularly on investigation practices, powers and their consequences. He is the author of the relevant chapters in two major 2011/12 books, the Zurich Tax Handbook and the ICAEW’s TAXline Tax Planning.

Lynn joined Chiene + Tait's Personal and Business Tax department in 2001, as a qualified CA. Following qualification as a chartered tax advisor she then transferred to the VAT department and is now Director of VAT Services. Lynn has significant experience in advising on all aspects of VAT affecting businesses across all sectors and in addition to VAT planning and advisory she deals with complex VAT enquiries and HMRC dispute resolution on a regular basis.
Gary Ashford

Gary Ashford is the National Head of Tax Investigations & Dispute Resolution for RSM Tenon. He is past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Taxation's (CIOT) Management of Taxes Technical Sub Committee and is a full member of the CIOT Technical Committee and is now a member of CIOT Council, the CIOT's governing body. Gary has a vast amount of experience in dealing with HMRC enquiries including serious fraud and overseas disclosures. He is a recognised expert in his field.
Val Hennelly

Val Hennelly is Head of the Dispute Resolution Unit in HMRC. Val has a wide experience in HMRC from capital gains, to LBS sector lead and employment income technical and policy. Her team is currently running the second phase of a pilot on applying alternative dispute resolution techniques to large and complex issues, and supporting other initiatives on collaborative working in HMRC.

David Croad is the HMRC pilot lead on alternative dispute resolution for SMEs. In recent years David has held policy, communications, project and operational roles within HMRC as well as being a litigator before the Special Commissioners and First-tier Tribunal.

Jim is a former retired Senior Inspector of Taxes who now runs his own tax investigation consultancy business.
During his time with HMRC Jim gained extensive investigation experience having served as a District Inspector, a CIF Investigator and Group Leader and latterly as Team Leader responsible for HMRC’s Direct Tax Learning Team.
Post HMRC Jim has dealt with a number of investigation cases ranging from small one man band business compliance checks to the most serious fraud cases dealt with by CIF and SIG.
Jim assisted ICAS deliver a series of seminars following the introduction of the new Penalty and Information and Inspection Powers.
